Salary (Grade): $17.82/hour (G12-E)

Location:         Facilities Department in Winnebago, NE                   
 
 
Job Purpose and Position Overview: 
This is manual work in the custodial and housekeeping care of the Tribal Facilities Program.  Work involves the performance of varied cleaning, minor maintenance, and repair tasks following established routines in an assigned tribal facility. Specific instructions are received on unusual jobs.  Frequently, the moving or lifting of equipment and materials is required. Work is inspected while in progress or upon completing for adherence to instructions and work standards. 
 
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities
·         Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe's core mission, vision and values 
·         Cleans and disinfects restrooms and replenished supplies; cleans and disinfects water fountains 
·         Changes light bulbs and ballasts, unclogs sinks and toilets and reports the need for repairs 
·         May sweep, vacuum, wax, mop, and buff floors, dusts and cleans offices, rooms, cafeteria, gym, and related areas; collects and                          removes trash, washes wall and windows 
·         Makes minor repairs as needed, and reports any major damage/repairs 
·         Keeps all janitorial equipment, machinery in good and operable condition; keeping them clean 
·         May move furniture and equipment; sets up rooms and gym; keeps walk clear of snow 
·         Stock supplies for restrooms as needed; strip and wax all floors when assigned 
·         Performs related work as required 
·         Attend required company and departmental meetings 
·         These duties are only illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from              the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. 
 
Required Qualifications/Skills: 
·         High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. 
·         Some knowledge of the materials, methods, equipment, and procedures used in cleaning operation. 
·         Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment 
·         Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, and other custodial equipment 
·         Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of surfaces 
·         Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions 
·         Ability to work effectively with other employees and staff 
·         Ability to occasionally perform heavy manual work 
·         Ability to pass background check and drug screen 
 
Training Requirements: 
·         As directed by your supervisor

Physical Requirements: 
  • X Very heavy work (lift over 50 lbs.)                                                  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

Language Requirements:

·         Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

·      All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a                   declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with
       PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.
