SMART Data Entry Clerk/Office Assistant 
 
Reports to: SMART Compliance Officer                                                                               
 
Salary (Grade): $16.98 (G11-E)

Location: Winnebago Police Department, Winnebago NE 68071                                             
  
Job Purpose & Position Overview: 
Will be responsible for assisting the SMART Compliance Officer in overall planning, administration and daily operations of the Winnebago Grant for Sex Offender Program. Will assist in making sure all areas are in compliance with SORNA. Will be responsible for entering data into the system, keep monthly track of the types of data required for monthly reports required. 
 
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities: 
  • Will be responsible for the data entry for SORNA management information. 
  • Will assist Supervisor in establishing SORNA training of Police Officers and other staff. 
  • Shall maintain registry system to comply with SORNA. 
  • Will attend all staff trainings as required including use of technical equipment. 
  • Required to attend all pre/in-service trainings as requested by the Supervisor. 
  • Will maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in every aspect of the program. 
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures of the Winnebago Tribe and the Program and in every aspect. 
  • Will be assigned timekeeper duties including responsibility for timesheets, and supervision of staff in this regard. 
  • When necessary, will assist in filing of case reports as assigned records. 
  • Will keep personnel fillies current and maintain their confidentiality 
  • Will process and input all data entry in to LiveScan system and Sex Offenders Koisks. 
  • Take minutes of staff meetings and other meetings requested by the director. 
  • Maintain above duties and other responsibilities as assigned. 
 Required Qualifications/Skills: 
  • AA Degree in office management preferred or two (2) year relevant college or two (2) years relevant experience or a combination of the above. 
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience of Law Enforcement Program operations or related administrative experience. 
  • Must have an understanding of the SORNA requirements. 
  • Must have knowledge of computer programs and spreadsheet software. 
  • Must possess good working knowledge of filing systems, basic formats, have excellent experience in written communications. 
  • Good public relation skills required. Must be able to deal with parents, children and other tribal employees with tact, courtesy, respect, objectivity and maturity. 
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with fellow employees under conditions that may become stressful due to status of cases. 
  • Must be in good physical and mental health and be of good moral character. 
  • Must be aware of cultural customs. 
 Training Requirements: 
  • Will be required to attend all staff trainings as requested. 
  • Must obtain training on use of technical equipment for collection of data. 
 Physical Requirements: 
  • Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. 
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment. 
  • While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. 
Mental Requirements: 
  • Reading, writing, calculating 
  • Above average social interaction skills 
  • Reasoning/Analysis 
  • Works with minimal to no supervision. 
 Language Requirements: 
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently. 
  • Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
